Confessional Friday

Hi, I am McKenzie and I live in Southern Utah; St George to be exact. I grew up in Southern Utah and enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounds me daily. I would say I am very fortunate to have been raised in such a beautiful place.  I manage our family owned dry cleaning business full time and serve tables at night to bring in a little extra cash. I thoroughly enjoy what I do for work, and hope to be able to take over the business within the next 5 years.

My family is the most important thing in my life and always has been. I am fortunate to have been blessed with such a wonderful family. My father, Lynn, has taught me that you need to be a hard worker so you can take care of yourself and your family. He taught me the importance of understanding your financial being and how to live life on a budget. I think the most important thing he has taught me is how a man should love a woman. My mother, Marilyn, has taught me the importance of being spiritual and to rely on our father above. She has taught me the important role a mother has as her children grow and how to care for them. She taught me the importance of being confident and striving for the goals I have set in my life. My sister, Torie, has taught me the importance of laughter, love, and family. Through thick and thin, family will be the people who are always there for you. She has taught me to love an individual no matter to circumstances because that is who they are. She has taught me that laughter is such an important part of being happy. She has taught me to be strong and never back down. She has taught me the importance to seek help when it is needed. My brother, Levi, has taught me that no matter what to always be there for the ones we love. He has taught me the importance of being who I am. He has taught me the importance of a how a man should treat a woman. He has taught me the importance of respect, courage, strength, happiness, faith, and love.  I am blessed to have the family member I do. I can honestly say, I don’t know where I would be in this life without them.

I started blogging because everyone else was doing it honestly and because I wasn’t close to all of my family members (aunts, uncles, and cousins). It was a way that we could keep each other updated with our lives and the fun things we do. I found passion and love for blogging. I have found it is an outlet for creativity and emotion. Plus, all of the wonderful bloggers that I have learned and grown with is an added bonus to this fun blogging world. I have thoroughly enjoyed the direction I have taken my blog in the last 10 months and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me in the blogging world.

Now, for some random and fun facts about me:

My birthday is August 28, which makes me a Virgo; also I share a birthday with  Jack Black, Shania Twain, LeAnn Rimes, and Jake Owen to name a few.

My favorite colors are Turquoise, Green, Coral, and Purple.

I am a country girl at heart, therefore, I love country music.

Being outside is one of my favorite joys; from being at the lake, to hiking, the beach, swimming, snorkeling, exploring, walking, or just taking in the sunshine. Its where I’d rather be.

I tend to lose things all the time, like my chapstick, my phone, my car keys, and sometimes myself.

My style is kind of all over the place, but if you shopped in my closet you would find most of my things are bought from Buckle, Bohme, Dillard’s, Forever 21, or H&M.

I think sunrise and sunset are the most beautiful times of the day.

My all time favorite movie is Fried Green Tomatoes

I still remember my very first ‘real’ boyfriend, you know the kind you buy Valentines for and hang out during lunch. Yep, Sam, I still remember our 6th grade romance. I also, remember dumping you for Tyler, sorry. It was fun while it lasted.

Sam and Tyler, your names haven’t been changed, hope you’re not reading this.

I am the kind of girl who dreams about her wedding, the dress, the future hubby, kiddos, and all the fairytale stuff that hasn’t happened to me yet. So, till then, I’ll keep pinning away at my Pinterest board, dreaming about the future and the someday.

I love to travel and see new places.

Tribal Skirt Inspiration

The one thing I hate about Pinterest is; it gets your hopes up. You find these adorable pieces of an outfit, only to click on the link and have a dead end. It really gets annoying, at least it does to me. I will admit though, I still pin the outfit to my board in hopes that someday I’ll come across a pin that sends me to a website, where I can purchase the item I am in love with.

For the last three years or so, I have been pinning away in hopes to find the perfect mini tribal skirt that I can add to my wardrobe. In my attempts, I have accumulated a number of pins. I have no problem with this, because each of the outfits is absolutely adorable. Anyways, while I was scrolling through Instagram yesterday, there it was, the perfect mini tribal skirt. Guess I needed to be looking at Instagram this entire time. So, I hit the link, and guess what; there it was. Ready and calling for me to purchase it.! Guess what, I am the proud new owner of this adorable skirt. Well, I will be, when it finally arrives at my door.

And with all the pins, like this, I will be able to make multiple outfits out of a single skirt. Perfection; at least in my eyes. I am so excited for the package to come in the mail and for it to get warm enough for me to wear it.!
