I am not one to do very many Weekend Recap Posts anymore. Unless I do something really exciting or go out of town, I really don't see a point to give you a play by play of my boring weekend. This weekend was different though, and this is whyyyy...
I would like everyone to meet Melissa.
Melissa lived down the hall from my boyfriend in North
Dakota. She is just the sweetest girl ever. When Brecken decided that he wanted to
move home, we told her she needed to move here too. So, she jumped on the
bandwagon and decided to make the move. She arrive on Friday night and I knew
that as soon as she was here, I had to take her to visit Zion’s National Park.
If you live in Utah, then you know the beauty that is within
this park. It is weird that it still amazes me every single time that I drive
through it, the beauty of the scenery is like nothing else I have ever seen. The
colors of the rocks and the green of the trees just make for one amazing
contrast!
I absolutely love Springdale, which is the little town at the base of the Park. It definitely makes the list of my favorite places! It has the best little restaurants. If you a long time reader, then you aren’t a stranger to my favorite, MeMe’s CafĂ©. They make the best crepes I have ever tasted, their coffee is always fresh, and their lunch menu is just as wonderful as their breakfast. MeMe’s is only open from 7am – 3pm, so if you decided to visit, make sure to go in the morning.!
While we drove through the park, we were able to see some of
the mountain goats! Melissa was hilarious; asking so many questions about how
they stay on the steep cliff sides. I couldn’t help but laugh; growing up here,
they were just another animal you saw on the side of the road.
Since it was Melissa’s first time, I had to do the normal tourist
thing and stop at Zion Fort. Seriously, I am just like a little kid though. I
love to visit this place and see the animals. Yeah, they have a little petting
zoo and old western town at the Fort. I have always loved being able to see the
little fawns they have there.
Zion’s National Park is really one of my all time favorite
places to go and now that it is cooling off again, I can’t wait to go hiking!
Cause there is no way I was about to do it in 100+ degree weather. Thank you cooler
weather for bringing back one of my favorite things to do!
What did you do this weekend?
