Five on Friday

ONE
I have been completely in love with this day planner since I saw it on Maegan's blog last week! I think it is about time that I break down and just buy it, because there is no other day planner like it! I promise I have looked!

TWO
I officially had a Herbalife shake every single day for the past week! I am loving the energy that they give me! They are super simple to put together! So far my favorite is the Caramel Crunch that I had yesterday, Butterfinger I am currently enjoying and Cookies 'n' Cream! Don't they sound delicious?! I can't wait to try out the other recipes that I have in store - Dirty Chai, yumm!

THREE
It has officially been two weeks since I launched the series Tough Topics and I have so amazed at all the beautiful emails and comments I have received - thank you guys so much! If you haven't had a chance to take a look, here is the Introduction and Part 2 of the story. I have planned to spread out my own personal stories throughout the next couple of months, but I will say that I have some amazing people that are joining in on the series. If you or someone you know has a story - please email me at lifeinthesunshineblog@gmail.com - I would love to add your story, your friends story or a family members story to the series!

FOUR
I can't help but look for fall wardrobe on the internet! I am so excited for the air to crisp up and get a little bit cooler - then I can officially justify buying items such as these! Isn't that Tory Burch bag just beautiful? I have been swooning over this pair of over the knee boots that Emily from The Sweetest Thing has featured on her blog a couple of times. These boots are gorgeous, but they sure are a splurge.

FIVE
I won't lie that I would love to win the Fall Giveway from all the lovely girls who put together 5 on Friday! It sure has some amazing things in it!

Friday Favorites | BF Jeans + Flannel + Leopard

Friday Favorite

| BOYFRIEND JEANS |
I have been loving Boyfriend Jeans lately! I love the way they fit and how different you can pair them with pieces. I think that Boyfriend Jeans paired with booties will be one of the most common occurrences in my fall wardrobe!

| FLANNEL |
Fall screams flannel to me. Although, I haven’t ever been the type to have multiple flannel and/or plaid shirts in my closet, I think that is going to change this year.

| CHUNKY SCARVES |
I don’t have a ton of Chunky Scarves in my wardrobe currently, but I have been in love with all the outfit inspiration for fall that have been paired with Chunky Scarves.

| BOOTIES |
I haven’t ever been one to fall in love with booties, like I have been this past year. There is something about them lately that makes me just swoon over them! I have been loving all of the outfits that I see them paired it. Plus, they go perfectly with my love for Boyfriend Jeans!

| LEOPARD PRINT |
All of the amazing colors that will be trending this fall like; cypress, sangria, cobalt, and misted yellow to name a few, leopard print is the perfect print to pair with them! I will admit, I was always a little hesitant to go big with animal prints in the past, but I found out that I love an outfit accessorized with a beautiful print like Leopard. Seriously, it really is such a classic print and so much fun!

Nautical Inspiration

Nautical - Life in the Sunshine

This week’s theme of The Creative Closet is Nautical. I have this image in my head of Nautical inspired clothing; stripes, polka dots, cardigans, boat shoes, blazers, white capris, and trust fund baby types wearing them. I guess you could say that Gossip Girl had a baby with Ralph Lauren for a weekend in the Hamptons.

Nautical - Life in the Sunshine

I knew I wasn’t exactly ‘polished’ or had a ‘trust fund’ kind of wardrobe; I secretly wanted to pair a cardigan and a blazer together with a pair of boat shoes to complete the look. I didn’t have anything like that in my closet though. To top it off, it is still around 100 degrees here in St. George and there was no way that I was going to justify buying that kind of wardrobe right now, for a picture. Although, I seriously did have to stop and contemplate buying a pair of boat shoes at Dillard’s last week, they were so adorable and I really did want them.

Nautical - Life in the Sunshine

I will admit, I didn’t put as much time and effort into this outfit as I have in past outfits for The Creative Closet. Partly because I really was sadden that the images of adorable outfits from Pinterest mixed with the items in my closet that just didn’t match up. So, when I found these adorable blue shorts at Gap, I knew I wanted to pair them with a white tank and a bright yellow cardigan. It didn’t exactly turn out to be what I had envisioned, but I like the outfit in the end. I don’t know if it exactly screams nautical, but maybe when it decides to cool down a few degrees, I will make up for it with a different outfit that I truly had imagined.

Leather and Lace

Leather and Lace - Life in the Sunshine

Leather, in an outfit.. Immediate image in my head; Biker Chick. I won’t lie, that is the first thing that I obviously think about when leather is used to describe an outfit. With my girlie style though, that definitely won’t be the case with this week’s Leather and Lace theme for The Creative Closet.

Leather and Lace - Life in the Sunshine

Last year, I will admit, I found some adorable ideas that included Leather Leggings and Flannel Button-ups for the fall time that I just absolutely loved. But, I never got around to actually buying myself a pair of leather leggings/pants. So, when Jana and Maegan introduced this week’s theme of Leather and Lace, I knew it would be the perfect time to pick me up a pair. I searched all over the internet for the perfect pair; asked a bunch of my friends, searched all over my hometown, and finally came across a pair that I was without a doubt in love with. I am so horribly picky when it comes to pants/bottoms, it is kind of ridiculous honestly. I guess that is what I get for working at Buckle for 18 months, eh whatevss.. But, these leather jeggings were going to be perfect.

Leather and Lace - Life in the Sunshine

I went back to my Pinterest Style Board in search of some fun and girlie outfits. I decided that I wanted to go for something a little more on the dressy side. My goal was to town down the edginess of the Leather by pairing it delicateness of the Lace. I decided to pick a color scheme to work with, make it a little easier to find the perfect accessories and finishing touches to this outfit. Because of course, any perfect put together outfit has to have some sort of color scheme to it.

I am without a doubt in my mind, in love with this outfit. The leather jeggings are so comfortable and the top is so cute, comfy, and classic. I decided to pair it with a red bag for a pop of color and leopard shoes for a little pizzazz and fun! Plus, leopard is considered neutral, right? Anyways, I hoped you enjoyed this week’s collaboration with The Creative Closet.

CONFESSIONAL FRIDAY

Helloooo Fridayyyy....
you know the drill,,, confession time.

I confess that this week has really been a challenge that I did not expect. It was full of a lot of up and downs, things that were completely out of my control too. I will be happy when it all finally settles down and things finally start to make sense again.

I confess that I am excited next week is my birthday, but really sad at the same time because the plans of going to see Brecken aren’t happening anymore. I had my hopes up that it would all work out and I would be able to go, but money sadly played the biggest part in this event. It is so hard when your plans come to a screeching halt because your bank account doesn’t agree with your game plan.

I confess that I always forget how these damn cats affect my allergies when I visit my Grandma’s house. Gahhh, why do I have to be allergic to everything? Seriously, so annoying.

I confess that I am so annoyed that I can’t find a simple and cute leopard clutch. Come on, like leopard is practically a neutral, and will always be in, why is it so hard to find a cute leopard clutch.. Dumb!

I confess that I started watching Gossip Girl on Netflix this past week and I am addicted. I loved One Tree Hill, so I figured it would be something similar. Lets just say, why didn’t I ever watch this while it was running on TV; is it still running..?

I confess that I have to cut Confessional Friday a bit short this week due to a family matter that is way more important than this is.. I’ll leave you with this.

I am grateful that I have such an amazing family. I would be lost in this world without them at my side. I am so happy each and every day that I get to spend in their presence, cherishing the memories that we create together. I don’t know where I would be without the love and support they constantly show me through the trials and tribulations I have encountered during my life.

I am grateful for the close bond I share with my family members. This is what makes our relationship amazing in everyway. Because of this bond, I know without a doubt in my mind, they will always be my biggest supporters and partners in crime. I am so happy that we are fortunate enough to have such an amazing bond, we gather in a time of tragedy, offering nothing but love and support for each other.

I am grateful and blessed to be able to have an amazing boyfriend who supports, encourages, and pushes me to always be the best person I can be. He is always there for me when I need his support to hold my life together. He really is the glue that keeps me held tight, strong, and pushing forward.

I love you.

CONFESSIONAL FRIDAY

Hellooooo Fridayyyy! Friday is one of my favorite days, because well 1) its the weekend 2) its time for some link ups 3) I always get to meet new bloggers on Friday's because of the link up! So, it's time for a little Confessional Friday with Leslie from A Blonde Ambition

The Creative Closet : White Hot

I confess that I was ready for this week to be over, as of Tuesday. I am completely exhausted and worn out; I don’t know what from either. It just hasn’t been my week, to say the least.

I confess that I can’t believe I will be 25 in two weeks. I know it probably isn’t some big huge thing, but it is kind of crazy to think about.

I confess that this whole screwed up sleep schedule I have had this week, is getting old. I would love to just be able to get a solid night’s sleep without tossing and turning all freaking night.

I confess that when I read an article about how McDonald’s doesn’t clean their McCafe machines, I was immediately disgusted. I from that moment decided that McDonalds probably will be out of the question for me.

I confess that I have been craving a Caribou Coffee really badly this week. I had one every time I was in the Denver airport, they are pretty amazing to say the least. Alright St George, time to step up your game and finally get a Caribou in our city!

I confess that I can’t wait to go to Springdale this weekend with Kati. It has been far too long since we have had a meal there, I am pretty darn excited to say the least. Eeek!

I confess that I found this amazing bag at Dillard’s this week while we were school shopping for Bailey. I am swooning over it… Hey family, just a reminder that my birthday is in two weeks.
