one word. Pinterest.

I have an addiction.
It’s called
-   Pinterest

I swear that every time I turn around I am on the site again and again. It is so addicting to find inspiration; any my wallet may not say thank you for it. I found so many wonderful things that I want, and of course I am saddened when I lick on the link and it says that the product is sold out. Ahh, worst feeling every. Then again, it makes me scower to find something similar. My style has change, for the better. Hopefully. I am always getting new ideas, which I love J
But my style isn’t the only thing that has prospered from it. I have tried a lot of new recipes and most of them have turned out to be so good!
Well here is some of the wonderful things I have found, cute huh!

Sorry the pics are from my phone.
I was sending them out,
christmas ideas..
hehe :)

thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Yeah its a few days late on this post,
I have been enjoying my time off from work.
A little mini stay 'cation,
just what I needed.

I have never cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner by myself,
I will admit.. I was a bit worried.
A turkey, a big turkey.
(thanks to Brecken's boss)
All the sides.
potatoes, rolls, gravy, veggies.

Now I didn't do everything that I wanted too,
Cause it was just going to be the two of us.
Heaven forbid that all those left overs would be in my fridge,
they would never get eaten before they went bad.

I stayed to the basics.
Turkey
Gravy
Rolls
Twice Baked Potatoes
Creamed Corn
Sugar Glazed Carrots

I am pretty proud of myself,
I roasted the Turkey
Although Brecken did help me clean it,
and take it out of the oven; a few times.
The recipe was from the lovely Pioneer Woman;
though I changed it from orange to lemon due to my allergies
It was delicious may I say myself - here

The gravy was made from scratch;
with the drippings from the turkey
which turned into a lemon rosemary gravy.
I thought it was delicious.

Twice Baked Potatoes from a Pinterest Recipe - here

Now I kind of cheated with the sides.
Rolls were Pillsbury Crescents
Corn was steamed Green Giant
Carrots were semi homemade thanks to Green Giant; again.

But all in all, It was delicious and very filling.

Hope every9one had a happy and filling thanksgiving J

so many things to be thankful for

I know that every Thanksgiving I always take the time out to make a list of what I am thankful for. Now I am not one of those that can do it on a daily post via Facebook, I like to make my list here and look at all of the things I am thankful for at one time.
So while I was spending my time on the Internet while the turkey cooked I found this quote about life. I believe this to be so true, and I love every single word of it.

Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.
Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.
- Marie Curie”

1.     I am thankful for my family. I love the close bond that we all have, and I am so thankful for that. I don’t know what I would do without them all.
2.    I am thankful for a Father who thought me how a woman should be treated. The love he has for my mother is special, and I loved growing up and seeing the love that they share with each other. He has always called my mother his soul-mate. I think that is just the cutest thing that I have ever heard a man say.
3.     I am thankful for a Mother who has taught me to be strong, stand up for what I believe in, and always be who I am. I love my mother for teaching me the traits of what a good mother should be, someone who will love you no matter what you decided to do in your life. I know she will always stand by my side and be there for me.
4.     I am thankful for my little brother. Growing Mom and Dad always told me that I took care of him, and I think that the tables have turned because he is always taking care of me now.
5.     I am thankful for my sister. I am thankful to be able to get to know her more and more each day. I am thankful that I know I am not the only one in the Spafford clan that sneezes and blows their nose like a freight train.
6.     I am thankful for my boyfriend Brecken. I am thankful for the love he has for me, and for him always being there at my side. I am thankful that he wants me to be who I am, and always wants the very best for me. I am thankful that he takes care of me and always makes sure that I have whatever it is that I need. I love him very much. I cant believe it has already been almost 3 years, time sure flies when you are having fun.
7.     I am thankful for the feeling of love. Nothing makes you feel more confidant than the person who is your biggest supporter standing behind you. Nothing is better than coming home after a good or bad day and snuggling up to that person. Nothing is better than the smile of that person who loves you.
8.     I am thankful for Brecken’s Family. I love that I have been able to get to know them these last 3 years. I love watching how they all interact with each other. The love that family has for each other is amazing to watch. I love that I have been accepted right in and feel as if I am suppose to be there.
9.     I am thankful for friends. Old friends, new friends, friends I haven’t met yet. Without friends I wouldn’t know how to keep sane in this crazy world. I am thankful that they are there sometimes when you need a break, and you just want to have fun.
10. I am thankful that the people in my life are not perfect, because then we couldn’t laugh about all the stupid, funny, retarded things we do.
11. I am thankful for little munchkins that are in my life. Little cousins, Brecken’s nieces and nephews, and also my friends little ones. It makes me so excited for the time when I will have a little family of my own and I will have all the fun moments in my life.
12. I am thankful for the gospel. I know that I haven’t been active for while now, but nothing brings me more joy than knowing that I always can go. Knowing that if I every need help and guidance, all I have to do is get on my knees and pray. I am very thankful for the teaching of the church and growing up with the family values that it has taught me.
13. I am thankful for work. I am thankful for a place of work that I like to be at, and where they want me to succeed, and push me to do my very best.
14. I am thankful for a place to call home. A place to lay my head and keep me from the cold wicked weather outside.
15. I am thankful to live in a place where the economy is doing good and where we all have good jobs. It is so nice to be able to not only pay for my bills, be able to pay bills off, and also be able to save money at the same time.
16. I am thankful for family and friend who have taught me to cook and to just have fun with it. There are no such thing guidelines when it comes to cooking, even though Brecken may say other wise. Shhh.. I did not just say that.
17. I am thankful for dreams. Without dreams life would be lifeless, nothing to achieve for, nothing to look forward too, nothing to strive to do. Whether your dreams are big or small, they are YOUR dreams and that is the beauty of it. Dreams take baby steps to achieve, but once you reach the top it is an amazing view on what steps got you there.
18. I am thankful for technology. Yeah I know this is probably something that can span wide out, but think of it this way. Without technology you wouldn’t be able to see people, hear people, and talk to people who are hundreds, thousands, or millions of miles away from you. I love that I am able to keep in touch with people who aren’t sitting right next to me, thanks to a smart person somewhere who decided to invent all of these things.
19. I am thankful for books. I love being able to dive into a book and get right into the story. Fall in love with characters and be able to hate others, you feel as if you are part of the story. Nothing is better than finding a good book!
20. I am thankful for a toothbrush and toothpaste. My favorite routine of the day! Two things that come together that make this world a better place to live in; just like peanut butter and jelly, mac n cheese, marshmallows and campfires, cookies and milk, doughnuts and frosting, veggies and ranch, swimsuits and summer, runny noses and Kleenex, pillow and blanket, or Motrin and cramps.
21. I am thankful for cameras. Whether it is a real camera or a phone, being able to capture memories and look back at them is a wonderful thing in this life.
22.I am thankful for my car. A reliable piece of machinery that gets me where I need to go safely.
23. I am thankful for Christmas lights, and not for the reason you may think. Christmas lights always remind me of my Grandma Spafford. How we use to go around town in search of lights, we all would get so excited. Then two years ago when Grandpa and Grandma Leake found this awesome house in SLC and we just had to go and see it. We waited in a line of cars for what seemed like forever to see this house of lights that was in tune with a radio station.
24. I am thankful for the troops who fight for our freedom. I am thankful that they dedicate their lives to protect our nation, and give their lives so we can always live in the land of the free.
25. I am thankful for the right to vote. Even if it doesn’t come out the way I want it too, I am thankful that I can take sometime and show I am proud to be an American. Show that I have a voice, and vote for what I would like my country to be like. Thankful for American and what it stands for, and how it grow more and more equal.

Well that is just 25 of the things I am thankful for. I could go on and on, but I have this turkey dinner to get back too. Thank you all.. Please tell me what you are thankful for.
