A Gentleman and A Lady - Part Two

As I said in this post, I recently read this blog post about how to decide if you are dating a real man or a boy. It gave 10 key points on how a real man would treat his lady, and I fell in love with it. Because ever single women deserves to have a ‘real man’ in her life; someone who knows how to treat a lady and the relationship they have together. This got me thinking though, what about a woman. What kind of qualities should a women posses to be a ‘keeper’ in a man’s eyes. A Gentleman and A Lady, part two.
10 WAYS TO KNOW YOUR WOMAN IS A KEEPER

A man wants a catch, the one he couldn’t possibly let go. The one he would do anything to reel in. So here are 10 signs to look to know that you have a lady and a keeper. This was obviously wrote by a man, which is what I love truthfully. A real man knows what he wants in a woman and these are amazing qualities in a woman. I added my own two cents in their though, so if you want to read the article in which I found this, then click here.

1. She doesn’t look for attention. A woman who doesn’t look for attention, are the women who are worth giving attention too. Women who are content with their own self confidence and don’t look elsewhere for validation, shine from within and will add to a man’s life.
2. She can hold a conversation.  Believe me; it is important to have physical attraction in a relationship, but it isn’t the most important when you’re talking about something that is long term.  A woman, who truly keeps your attention, makes you excited to see her, or just talk to her – every day- is one worth holding onto. A man wants a woman who is intelligent, well-spoken, witty, and funny with killer looks. No women is worth settling less for, not a single one.
3. She is comfortable in any situation. In a relationship you’re not going to be alone all the time. A man wants a woman who will be able to live life to the fullest, while they are by their sides all the time. Meaning, a man can bring you to any social event and leave you alone if he needed to go and talk to someone or grab a drink. He wants a woman who will be comfortable in any setting; family events, outings with friends, double dates, and even nights in.

4. She doesn’t start petty arguments. In a healthy relationship, two people should be able to work out their complications with mature conversations. A man wants a woman to not throw their past in their face or use it as ammunition against you, especially is she has already forgiven your for the mistake you made in your past. Relationships are never an easy road with no differences; when a woman can handle a conversation with maturity and work through the differences, she is a keeper.

5. She encourages you. A man wants a woman to stand behind him and encourage him to chase after his goals and dreams. Everyone in life will seem to lose their fire and drive at some points in life, when there is no one to share them with. You, should be, the first person he runs to when he has exciting news.

6. She is your sunshine on a gloomy day (and everyday). Are you excited to talk to her when you wake up first thing in the morning? Or kiss her on the forehead when you’re together? Does seeing her name pop up on your phone during a rough day make your forget about all of the worries of life? Does being with her take you into your own world where nothing else matters? If you said yes to all the above, hold on to that woman.

7. She puts in effort for you. (To me this is the same thing as #9 in the other post and I love this.) You have to put in effort for the relationship to last, both of you. Because a relationship isn’t about you, it’s about the person your with, and making them happy. Because seeing them happy will make you happy, and vice versa. Don’t stop the romance in your relationship. It can be as little as getting your nails and hair done, so you feel good, to look good for him. But it is more than that too, put in effort to make each other happy. Take time for each other.!

8. You can laugh together. Seriously, this is such a big one. A man wants a woman he can laugh with. Life needs laughter, love, and happiness; so does a relationship.

9. You can cry together. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows. Times will get tough, things will get hard, and you will need to be each other’s support team. You need to be there for him, and he needs to be there for you. You can feel stupid to cry in front of him, and he should be able to fully let loose and emotionally let go in front of you.

10. You have similar views for the future.  The future is there, whether you are ready for it or not. Your life should never be dictated by someone else. There are things that you want in your life and there are things he will want in his life. Are they the same? If you want the same thing in life, at the same time; great. If you don’t settle thinking he will just forget all about it, cause neither will you. Long term relationships are all about compromise, with that you will have a long and happy future.

Someday I will find my prince charming, whether that is today, tomorrow, or later in life. When that man walks into my life, I really will be grateful for these articles. Because it has opened up my eyes to what a good relationship should be like. I can say that I am grateful for all the bad relationships and relationships that just didn’t work out, because it will sure make me grateful for the day that a real man walks into my life and sweeps me off his feet. He will be my gentleman and I will be his lady.

Jubilee of Trees

Kati, Angie, and I attended the local Jubilee of Trees Festival this weekend. There is nothing that will put you quite in the spirit of Christmas like it. Your surrounded by all things Christmas; Trees, Wreaths, Cookies, Candies, Gingerbread Houses, Arts & Crafts, Decorations, Trains, Music, Dancers and of course Santa. I get so excited each and every year when the festival is held. It just makes me want to run home and put up the Christmas Tree. I love it.! Plus, Hello, all the ideas that I get. Maybe, its more deadly then I think... eek.! Anyways, Jubilee of Trees is a Foundation that raises money for our local hospital. Each year they pick a different part of the hospital to raise money for and this year was the Advance Trauma Care. They are hoping with the proceeds from this festival our hospital will be raised to a Level II for Trauma Care. That way no one in Southern Utah will have to be sent elsewhere for their trauma care needs. They will be able to get all the help and support they need, right here at home. I believe it is an amazing foundations and I love supporting it, even if I go to really put myself in the Holiday Spirit. So worth it.!
Here are my favorite trees from this year. Hard to Pick eh.?
and of course you can't forget about the picture of us girls, you know we took some, duh.

Happy Monday,,
Kenzie.

Oh the Days.

When you decided to go through old boxes of photos, you come across marvelous treasures such as the pictures below. So in honor of the notorious #throwbackthursday, I thought I would share these awesome pictures with you. I am taking it back to the days of uber cheesy grins, picture posing queen, matching outfits and leather doc martin sandals.. geez, these pictures are so old. They have to at least be 10 or 12 years old.

I am unbelievably excited that Thanksgiving is just a short week away. It is that time again for Turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Green Beans, and Pie; lots and lots of pie. Eek! I am super excited and then not to mention that Christmas is just a mere 3 weeks after that. No worries people, before you blink it will be Christmas Eve and you will have wondered where in the world that entire time went. Between shopping, children, hot coco, food, more shopping, present wrapping, families to see, long lines to endure, and the little children all excited to hear Santa; Christmas Eve will be here and it will all be worth the hassle of the last few weeks. I am so excited for the Holidays, as I always am. Time to start pulling out the Tree and getting the house all decorated.! Well to continue on with my Thankful Thursdays as I have done in this post and this one, I give you a short list of the things I am thankful for this week.

-one- Rain. This morning it started raining and to me rain is so peaceful. I love the sound of it, the smell, and the calm feeling it always brings me. Not to mention, I get the best sleep when it is raining outside.
-two- Coffee. I don’t honestly know what I would do without it; I absolutely love getting up in the morning and pouring myself a cup of it. It may possibly be the reason that I get going in the morning.
-three- Online Shopping. Since I live in a town that doesn’t very well accommodate the shopping needs of everyone in this town, I am grateful for online shopping so I can get everything I need.
-four- Work. I honestly do love my job, I love the people I work with, I love what I do, and I love the customers who come in (most of them). Now that I am taking on a second job, I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to have a primary job that will work so well with a secondary job. I know long days and night will be head of me, but I am grateful that I have the opportunity to be able to get two jobs to support and enjoy life the way that I want too.

-five- Kati. I know that I have already mentioned that I am grateful for family and friends, but ladies and gents; my best friend is amazing. I don’t know what I would do without her. She seriously is my rock, glue, or whatever you what to call it. She is so supportive of my decisions, yet tells me when I am being a complete idiot. I read this article yesterday; it describes our relationship to a T. We are more than friends, best friends, sister, we are soul mates; it’s the truth. We are a package deal, you get 2 for 1. Hooked at the hip and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Much Love, Kenzie.

A Gentleman and A Lady

I came across this article blog post about the 10 ways to know your dating a real man and I absolutely fell in love with it. I have had my fair share of ‘bad boys’ in my life and in all truth, I am ready to date someone who has the qualities of a ‘real’ man. Then this got me thinking; well what qualities does a girl posses to be a ‘keeper’ from a guys perspective. So I’m going to break down this little shindig into a two part series, A Gentleman and A Lady.

10 WAYS TO KNOW YOUR DATING A REAL MAN
Because we all want a real man in our lives, not some silly boy.

1. A real man values more than just your looks. He will value your personality, kindness, intelligence, and who you are as a person in general; as well as the beauty he sees before his eyes. ß Nothing gets more old then the same compliment time after time, because all he can see is the beauty on the outside of you.
2. A real man will never be intimated by your motivation. He will have goals for himself, but he will want to be with a woman that has set goals in her life as well. He will never feel intimidated or threatened by a woman who goes after what she wants in life. ß He will stand by and support you throughout the process and steps in achieving your goal. He will not be that person who keeps you from pursuing your dreams.
3. A real man will have more interests than just you. Of course, you should be a priority in his life, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have a life as well. He should have interests, friends, hobbies, goal, and aspirations. His life shouldn’t revolve his entire life around you. ß To value your time together, you value your time apart as well.
4. A real man will give you answers. No matter how awkward or uncomfortable a situation is, he will approach it, and you, with respect. He will not dance around answers or make excuses. If something needs to be talked about, between the two of you, he will be more than happy to explain the entire situation at hand. ß Yes.!
5. A real man is direct. He won’t play mind games or manipulation in your relationship. He will be direct, to the point, and honest with you; but he will do it with kindness too.  ß I always feel like someone is ashamed and hiding something, if they will not be direct and honest with you.
6. A real man will trust you. As long as you haven’t done anything to betray his trust, he will not be paranoid, or snoop around invading your privacy to make sure you’re not doing anything ‘bad’. He will be confidant in the relationship that you two have together.  ß In my eyes a relationship is build on a foundation of trust.
7. A real man is cool, calm, and collect. It should be understood that part of what comes with having a girlfriends, is dealing with her getting hit on. It doesn’t matter if you’re out with friends together, at dinner, or even out with her friends; she will at some point in time be hit on. Instead of letting his primate instincts prevail and beating his chest like an angry gorilla to scare off competition, a confident man will calmly make his position known, and understand that you’re still going home with him at the end of the night. ß I love that part of his section.!
8. A real man will show you respect. Nothing signifies an empty shell of a man more than someone who disrespects women, animals, or children. A real man will treat you with respect that you deserve, never force you to do anything you’re uncomfortable with, and never mistreat you. ß I believe this to be so true.
9. A  real man will put effort into your relationship. Boys are generally apathetic and just looking for one thing from a woman. A man will do what it takes to make you happy, both inside and outside of the bedroom. Your happiness, is his reward. ß Because a relationship isn’t about you, your happiness, your wants; it’s about wanting to make that person happy and do everything in your power to make his/her life wonderful.
10. A real man will make you be the best version of yourself, without changing who you really are. He will strive for greatness and therefore inspire others to strive for it as well. As Mark Twain said – Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. ß Perfectly said.

Weekend Shenanigans

After last week, I sure needed a good relaxing weekend. That is exactly what I got.! Saturday day wasn’t filled with much going on other than Laundry, Cleaning, and Sons of Anarchy. Went out to dinner with some friends, then to a poker fundraiser, and finished off the night playing games at a friend’s house.
Sunday was about the same as Saturday. After the boys decided to go riding dirt bikes with Harlie, my plans all went out the door. I was going to take the little stinker to the dog park in town and try to let her get some energy out. Instead I just hung out around the house, ate some delicious Zucchini Bread that mother made and lounge. I finished all the seasons that Netflix had of Sons of Anarchy and was upset when Hulu told me I had to have a television provider to watch the episodes of the new season. Seriously Hulu, I pay you so that I don’t have to pay the outrageous cost of Satellite Television.  Gah, especially since it ended at such a freaking intense part. Dumb, dumb, dumb.!
I finished off the night hanging out with a group of guys that make me laugh so hard. They played the golf version of PIG for 3 hours in their house. It was so funny to watch them, since they are all so competitive against each other. Good time boys, good time.!
Now it’s back to the grind of the week and it is sure going to be a long one; especially with two girls down for the closing shift. Here are too long days, lots of hours, and never enough time in the day. Hello Monday.
But here is something to make you laugh, came across this last night. Laughed so hard, soo hard.!

Harlie

Harlie, welcome to our family.! These last few days have been so much fun having you in the house. You're absolutely hilarious with how much energy you always have. You love having someone play with you all the time and if we aren’t giving you the correct amount of attention when you want it, you find the need to smack us with your toys. It's like you’re saying "Hello, I’m ready to play.!" You also find it hilarious to dig into your toy bin and pull out every single toy you possibly have in there. Then when we attempt (yes I said attempt) to put them back in the bin, you pull them all back out with in a second, throwing them across the room. We sure do love you though and can't help but just laugh as you do it. I think the best thing though is when you make me chase you up and down the stairs, back and forth on the landing. You think it’s hilarious and make me do it over and over and over again. I sure do love you, even when you wear me out.

Thankful Thursday

Last week in this post I talked about how November always brings us to the time of the year when we really start thinking about what we are thankful for in our lives. So to continue on with this Thankful Thursday I am going to do during the month of November here are 10 things I am thankful for this week.

-ONE- My Toothbrush. The first thing I do when I wake up. To me there is nothing better than the feeling of a clean mouth and freshly brushed teeth. Plus, then I don’t kill everyone around me with awful morning breath.
-TWO- Cell Phones. Being able to communicate with all the people that I love on a daily basis is such a nice thing. Plus I love that no matter where I go I can have photos, music, calendar, and internet right in my hands.

-THREE- Sadness. Because honestly you never know how good something is in your life until you have experience sadness. Its helps develop the person you are and helps grow you into a better person tomorrow.
-FOUR- Laughter. Because what would life be like if we didn’t have things to laugh about on a daily basis.

-FIVE- Seasons. I love when seasons change and it brings new life to Mother Nature; spring flowers, summer nights, fall leaves, and winter snow. There is so much beauty in each season that is brought to us.
-SIX- Water. The ability to have clean water that comes straight out of a tap or bottle is something I know that we all take for granted. Being able to keep our bodies hydrated without doing more than putting a cup or bottle to a spout is the nicest thing.

-SEVEN- Internet. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to be sharing these things with you.
-EIGHT- Holidays. The joy that brings families together to celebrate is a wonderful thing. I am so grateful that there are set holidays that we all look forward to as families. Being able to see the joy in little ones faces around the holiday season is magical to me. Plus, I love shopping for people and giving gifts.
-NINE- Freedom. To live in a country with so many opportunities before us is really a blessing. The soldiers who fight and veterans who have fought to keep us with the freedom we have is a blessing. I am so beyond grateful for all the wonderful people in the military who fight for us.

-TEN- Inspiration. I am so thankful for the daily inspiration to make me smile and gets me going to achieve the goals and dreams I have for myself.

dreams

Have you ever thought what your dreams could possibly mean? I have some of the most off the wall random dreams. The kind where you wake up, wondering where in the hell did that come from. Supposedly dreams are a reflection of what is on your mind. I get the ex-boyfriend stuff and your family or friends, but what about people that you haven’t seen in years or even thought about. What about random adventures, falling, running, or being chased. Cause you betcha I have had all those kind of dreams. I have always been interested in trying to figure out if they actually mean something though.
So this is what the Dream Mood Dictionary says about my dreams:
Free Falling: did you know the popular myth for falling is that if you don’t wake up before you hit the ground you will die.? Well, I am sure that isn’t true. So, it says that falling dreams often reflect a sense of failure or inferiority. You have lost your foothold on life and you are insecure about the future of it, you feel like you’re going to fail. I get into low parts of life when I feel like I have lost myself or my footings. This makes perfect sense as to why I would dream about free falling in a time where I feel like I am failing or losing my foothold on something.
Adventures: Are you bored in life? To dream of adventures or that you are an adventurer is a reflection that you are lacking adventure in your life. You crave excitement and variety. OR it could mean that you are too self absorbed in your ambition and have forgotten about the people along the way who have helped you get to your standing now. I guess I am craving excitement and adventure in my life.
Running: Avoiding something in your life. Running away from something, not someone is a reflection that you are trying to avoid something in your life. You need to realize the significance of what you are running towards, because that could be your determination. But if you are running and you can’t run fast enough then you are lacking from self-esteem or self-confidence. Running is such a common thing for me in my dreams. I vary from the kind of running, so avoiding something or someone is very common feeling for me. I also deal with a lack of self-confidence when I feel like I am losing grip on myself. Such common things in my life that I deal with.
Being Chased: is a reflection that you are avoiding a situation that you don’t think you can conquer. If an animal is chasing you: unexpressed and unacknowledged anger; person: difficult goal or task in which you are avoiding; but if you are enjoying be chased then you like being the object of desire. This is so close to running for me, avoiding a task or goal in which I don’t think I can conquer.
Ex-Boyfriends: This is such a large range of reasons to why an ex would appear in your dreams. The most common is 1) you have finally let go of the feelings you embraced with that person 2) they have an emotional hold on you or 3) you compare yourself to their new partner.  I have had a lot of different dreams in this department, because I know that I was hurt so bad in my last relationship. I know that I still harbor emotions in which are hard to let go, because I am scared of being hurt. So moving on and excepting what happened was a very hard thing for me to do. These kind of dreams make perfect sense to me because of what I went through and the emotion that was embraced during the healing.
Acquaintances from the past: represents aspects of yourself that you are still trying to get to know. You are either refusing to accept certain things about yourself or you are trying to understand who you are. You are always soul searching, so to see an acquaintance is a very common thing in your dreams. Learning to understand the person in which stands before me; impressive. Makes complete sense though.

Isn’t it interesting as to what your mind can come up with while you are dreaming.?
I sure think so.!
Happy Dream Ya’ll.!

lost myself in Sephora

This past weekend I went to Salt Lake with my mom to visit family and attend her doctors appointment. I have always found joy in being able to see family that lives there. Since we live a little further away, it gets hard at times to make it up for visits as often as we would like. Sunday night my Uncle Derrick and Aunt Christie brought their 4 kiddos over for dinner and fun. I love little mister Luke (above picture), he is such a character.  He kept saying to me "Kenzie, you going to take another picture of me?" Isn't he just a little heartbreaker.?
So while we were in Salt Lake, Mom and I did a little shopping. Lets just say, I may possibly be an addict of Sephora now. I walked out with my little bag and $250 less in my pocket from one store, but it was sure worth it. These are a few of the little treasures from my first time in Sephora.
This was just 5 of the 10 items I bought myself. I was so excited with my purchase and I am loving my new little make-up makeover!

Friday, Friday, Friday.!

Happy Friday.!
I don’t know about you, but it seems like this week has just dragged on and on for me. I am happy that it is finally Friday and I hope that the weekend doesn’t fly right on past me. Well you know the drill ya’ll. Friday means it’s time for a little link up frenzy.. So here is the link ups for today.
Dear November: Now that you have decided to grace us with your presence, all I can think about is Christmas. Of course I am excited; this is one of my favorite times of the year. Everything that surrounds Christmas excites me; the smells, the lights, the decorations, and of course all the joy in little children’s faces. Plus I have the notorious Christmas shopping list that I need to get my butt in gear and start accomplishing, especially before all hell breaks loose at the malls.
Did anyone else think that Tim McGraw looked absolutely amazing at the CMA’s and then there is my girl Kellie Pickler who looked stunning? I think these two look are my absolute favorite from the CMA awards.
both are via
Ya’ll know my obsession with my nails. So here is the new do for my nails ladies.. Aren’t they perfection?
Since Christmas is weighing heavy on my mind, I can’t stop thinking about the one item I was for Christmas. That would be a CoolPix S9500 18.1 Megapixel Digital Camera in Red or Black. I am need a new camera so desperately it’s sad. Even though I would love a really nice camera, I will be happy with a point and shoot camera that I can take with me everywhere.
Since I don’t have really any set plans this weekend, I was thinking about making a little something something in the kitchen. Since it’s the holiday season all I can think about is pies. Chocolate Silk Pie, Apple Crumble Pie, and of course a Peach & Blackberry Cobbler Pie..
Yummmm…! Better get to baking.!
Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Much Love, Kenzie.

Thankful

November has to be one of my favorite times of the year. I think it is because it is really the true start of the Holiday season. Signs of holiday joy are always popping up through out the month. You start thinking and shopping for all the special people in your life. Best of all, I get to see all my family numerous times through out the next couple of months. I absolutely love the feeling and joy that the holiday season brings to me. Also, November is the time of the year where people actually think about the things in their lives that they have to be grateful for.! Even though we have something to be grateful for each and everyday of our lives. Anyways,, I thought it be appropriate to write down a few things each Thursday of what I am thankful for. So if you would like to join along with me, email me and I will throw a little link thing on my page next week. Love to have you join along!

-ONE- Family. I don't know what I would ever do without my family. They are the supporting rock that keeps me grounded and the wings that keep my spirits high. I am extremely blessed to have such a wonderful and supporting family. I know through thick and thin we will always be there for one another and the support that each other needs to fall into.
-TWO- Friends. It is never the quantity of friends, but the quality of friends that makes friendship wonderful.  I can truly say that I have a wonderful group of friends that I can count on, lean on, learn with, and make memories. But you know what is even better; I have the absolute best friend a girl could ask for. She has and always will be there for me through absolutely everything. She is more than a friend, more than a bestie, she is my partner in crime and my sister.
-THREE- Home. I am grateful to have a roof that keeps me safe and sound every day and night. The best thing about it though; It's not a house but a home. Filled with memories, warmth, love, and security.
-FOUR- Sight. Being able to watch the sunrise on the way to work this morning was beautiful and its little things like that I take for granted each and every day.
-FIVE- Happiness. This is something that I never realized I would be grateful for. Until about a year ago, the feeling of happiness wasn't something that I thought was important. I mean of course you have your happy moments, but the feeling of waking up and being happy just because you are truly happy and content with life. It is such an amazing feeling that I am truly grateful for. It was quite the journey to finally be in a place of happiness, but now I am so grateful for all the trials that have gotten me here to this place in which I stand now. Happiness is such a wonderful feeling.!

and since it is Thursday I am going to do a little salute to the past..
#throwbackthursday

I am excited for winter because of the boots, sweaters, scarfs, and cooler weather.
I sure miss summer though and the lake days.

Much Love, kenzie.

Randomness

It's that time of the week to link up with
Shanna for a little Random Wednesday fun.!
-one- I am obsessed with music that just grab the soul and speaks to it. So I heard this artist last night from a friend and now I am obsessed. Ladies and Gents her name is Lindsey Stirling and she is amazing!

-two- I am a huge lover of the holiday season and I am so excited that it is finally here. can I tell you 22 days till Thanksgiving and 48 Days till Christmas..! You know Holiday is in full swing when Starbucks breaks out the holiday cups!

-three- I am so grateful to call these girls my best friends. They are the best.! #myfriendsarebetterthanyours #myfriendsarebabes

-four- So I get horribly dry scalp in the winter time because of the colder weather and my dry skin. I was told to try this mint conditioner from biolage and I am officially in love. I only use it a couple times a week, so I don't get product build up. This conditioner is thick and creamy, but it is awesome and hello too no dryness.

-five- I am still completely in love with my car and it only cost me 40.00 last week to fill her up. Talk about exciting.!

well have a good hump day everyone.!

much love, kenzie.
