Words of Wisdom Wednesday: Love Edition

Words of Wisdom Wednesday
:Love Edition:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

Meet my parents; Lynn and Marilyn Spafford.
Today they are celebrating 26 years of marriage.
Marriage is defined as a social union or legal contract between two people called spouses. I think that marriage is so much more than just a legal contract. I am not married myself, but I can see the love and patience it takes to make a marriage work. I have always wondered what people think it takes to stay happily married for a lifetime. So I started asking people around me, including my parents what they think it takes to make a marriage good. I find the main keys are; trust, patience, forgiveness, communication, compromise, compassion, loyalty, and “fire”. There are so many little things that I heard that became aware to me of what it takes to make a marriage happy that never occurred to me too. Things like; courage, strength, thoughtfulness, and closeness. I believe that no marriage will ever be “perfect”, but in my eyes there will always be a blissful marriage that is reachable. When I asked a good friend today what she thinks makes her marriage so happy she simply told me; love, trust, loyalty, forgiveness, patience, compromise, communication, and time spent just between you and your spouse. Marriage is hard, and it will always be a challenge, but if both of you are willing to work on it everyday and always do what is best for each other, and yourself; you will succeed. I know that someday my prince charming will come. I am so happy that I have so many marriages around me that are blissfully happy; they are inspiration. I have always loved the scripture I put above, because I feel as if every single word is true. It is something to live by each and everyday. It says it as simple as you can imagine.

Congratulations to my parents for 26 years of marriage. Many years of memories down, and many years of memories to go. I love you both.

Three and Four: Kati and I went down to Mesquite to enjoy dinner at Katheryn's in the Casablanca and then we came home and had a sleepover..!
Five: Caramel Mocha from Meme's in Springdale.. Came for Breakfast on Sunday!
Six: Strawberry and Banana Crepes from Breakfast. They were delicious and gone in seconds!
Seven through Nine:  Kati, Wyatt, Aubrey, Levi, and Myself spent the rest of the day in Zion's hiking. Such a beautiful place, I love it there. Got some sun, and my nose is now a little on the red side. It was completely worth it. Felt amazing up there!

Best Purchase:  Get Ready, Get Ready, Ok.... Yes I splurged and finally got it! Ooh I love my new purse from Michael Kors. Plus Dillards had this awesome sale that if you brought in an old purse for charity you could receive anywhere from $10-$50 off your purse. So I had to get it of course.!

MICHAEL Michael Kors Striped Marina Grab Bag

Isn't it totally adorable, I think so.

ON A MORE SERIOUS NOTE:
My Uncle Brad got very hurt this last weekend while racing his motorcycle. He will be in the hospital for a long time, and I was just hoping to ask everyone to keep him in your prayers. Send good thoughts his way. We need all the prayers and goodness sent that way.! I love you Uncle Brad, hang in there.

Friday Letters

THIS MORNINGS VIEW
Dear Friday: I am so happy that you are here. This week has been such a bad week, and I just am so happy that the weekend is finally here. Dear Weather: I would very much appreciate it if you just stay like this, 80 degrees is a wonderful day. Dear Michael Kors: We have a much love/hate relationship. I love you bags so very much; My wallet on the other hand, doesn't appreciate it. I am so in love with the new Navy and White Nautical looking canvas bag that you have. I think it may need a spot in my closet. Dear Phone: If you die on me, I am going to throw you at a wall. I don't like that you keep going white. If you die, I just might die. I don't want to have to pay to replace you, just not right now. Dear Allergies: You can go away any second now. I am so tired of sneezing and blowing my nose. I sure would appreciate it. Dear Iggy's: I usually love you, but last night you were awful. Sad thing, cause all I wanted was for a good drink. One word; Disappointment. Dear Weekend: Please slow down and take your time while your here. I would love to take in as much of your sunshine this weekend as I possibly can. I am sure that everyone around me would appreciate to not have to stare at the glow of my white skin. Dear Dish: I am missing you more than ever right now, ACM'S this weekend and The Voice is back on. I am so sad that I can't watch it. Life in the Sunshine Debut..

New Blog Debut

Thank you to TinkerB Designs

Welcome too
Life in the Sunshine

This formally was just another blog on another webpage,
But my life has been going through so many changes.
I only see fit that I start with a fresh little space of my own.
Now I have been going back and forth, and putting a lot of thought into what I wanted to name the new blog. What is better than the thing I love best though, other than new clothes, shoes, ice cream and raspberry lime aides; Sunshine of course.
Growing up in Dixie (St. George, UT) my entire life has been built around this beautiful scenery and the beautiful sunshine filled days that we have here so often. I love nothing more than to be outside with my sunglasses on, enjoying a summer’s day. So that was it, I enjoy the life I live in the sunshine; and want you to be apart of it. So again, Welcome to Life in the Sunshine. I hope that you take a look around the new blog, read a few things, leave some love, and lets button swap. I sure would love to be shared around the blogging world. I hope you enjoy.

Much Love, Kenzie.

From Deep WIthin

Writing has always been a great outlet for me, and when I started blogging I never realized how much I would be able to tell personal stories and struggles. I am one of the people who keep a lot of things bottled up, and I struggle with my emotions due to personal family issues. I never feel like it is a good time to let all the things I am feeling and going through surface, so things tend to build and then they tend to explode. This is how life has been for me for a long time now, and I never truly could see how it affected me physically.
This past December I was diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety. All of the constant ups and downs of my emotions are something I have dealt with for a few years now. I just never felt like they affected my life, honestly I thought they were normal. Then the panic attacks and the constant worry and anxiety over everything started occurring on a regular basis. I never wanted to admit to myself that I was dealing with these issues, honestly I though I was a “crazy” person for going through all of this. Then I finally admitted to myself, with the help of an old co-worker that I need to talk to someone about it.
This is when life changed for me, and in a big way. My long time boyfriend and I broke up after being together for 3 years. I started to realize then how much of a toll my Depression was taking on our relationship. It was then that I made a decision; I absolutely have to get help for myself. I need to be healthy and I need to make sure that I am in control of my body.
After getting some treatment and constantly writing about my feelings, as well as being more open to talk about them I feel like my life has come to a better place. Now I am not saying that I have made a full recovery or anything, cause I still have along way to go. Depression is a deep issue, and I have only begun to peel back the layers of what is going on. I do feel though that I have a better control on my anxiety, I can now understand what my body needs in order to calm itself down. I am pretty proud of myself for the progress I have made.
Blogging is such a great way to keep my mind occupied and it is such a helpful source to find inspiration. I truly have enjoyed becoming more involved in the blogging world and it has helped me so much with this progress. Blogging isn’t just something to do anymore, but it is something I look forward to and I enjoy planning what I am going to post about next.
I know there are a lot of people out there that are struggling with depression and anxiety; well I am here to tell you. It does get better; find it in yourself to seek treatment. Grab a journal and start to write everything your feeling down, it helped me and I bet it can help you too.
Well if you made it to the end of this long post, you’re a great friend. Thank you for letting me vent a little and write a personal story down for you.

Much love, Kenzie.
