Summer hits Southern Utah and it really takes your breath
away. In all true honest though, it becomes so hot here that it makes it hard
to want to go outside and enjoy the summer weather. I am such an outdoors
person though; I try and not the summer heat affect my desire to make plans.
So, I thought I would share with you some of my favorite activities for summer
and a few new ones that I can’t wait to try out.
GO ON A PICNIC
You can plan a simple picnic in your backyard with a couple
sandwiches and some lemonade or do some fancy Italian themed picnic at a park.
My favorite is a combination of both. Pick a park, big a large blanket, and
grab some Café Rio.
PLAN A SCAVENGER HUNT
Scavenger hunts can be so much fun and with the summer heat,
it a perfect way to combine the outdoors and the indoors into one activity.
READ IN A HAMMOCK
What a perfect way to spend a relaxing day then in a
hammock, reading a new book.
PLAY LAWN TWISTER
Plan a game night, grab some friends, spray paint the
twister board onto the lawn, and play.
VISIT DIFFERENT SWIMMING POOLS
I am sure you decide to go to the same swimming pool every
single time you want to get a tan. Why not make a list of different pools in
your area and visit them throughout the summer.
HAVE A WATER BALLON FIGHT
Make a run to your local Walmart or Target, grab a couple
packages of water ballons, fill those babies up and place them in your laundry
baskets. Divide your friends into two teams and have at it, or do it with your
special someone to make things for interesting.
VISIT A FARMERS MARKET
I think a Local Farmer’s Market is a perfect way to start
out the summer day. Buy a few things and then decided to make dinner with
family, friends, or a special someone later.
STROLL A SUMMER FESTIVAL
Summer is a kick off of great festivals, most of them are
free too. Why not spend your day strolling around a car show, a wild flower
festival, or enjoy an evening with a summer concert. Plus, most festivals are
going to have awesome food vendors.
TAKE A SPONTANEOUS TRIP
Call you friends, pack a bag, and hit the road. Maybe head
to the beach, the mountain, or a city close by. It is always a recipe for a
good time when you decide to randomly take a trip with your friends.
BUILD A WATER SLIDE
To have a waterslide in your back yard, you don’t have to
spend all kinds of money. Why not just make one in your backyard; invite
your friends, family, and why you’re add
it, invite the neighbors too.
HAVE A SQUIRT GUN FIGHT
Why not make it interesting and place the gun a note that
you’re ready for war, could make for some really fun memories. If you don’t live
with your special someone or can’t possibly think of soaking the house, plan a
party with your friends for an afternoon of water game fun.
NIGHT SWIMMING
Because who know, it might just be you and your special
someone there.
What are you ideas for some fun summer activities?
