Maybe I am weird
or whatever, but I don’t think that sweats should ever be worn out of the house
and an airport is no exception to that rule. Now, if you are taking the red-eye
and getting to your destination before 9am, it’s acceptable to be caught in
sweats or maybe flying for 18+ hours. But, if you are not, then you should probably wear something that is
more “daytime” appropriate. At least that is my opinion on wardrobe options. Don't hate me if you think otherwise, this is just my personal opinion.
I think that
for an airport outfit to be "perfect" it needs to fit the following categories:
Comfortable
Who
in their right mind wants to be uncomfortable more than they have to on a plane
for hours at a time.
Light Weight
It
could be a million degrees or freezing cold depending on where you go, plus if
you get hot you don’t want to lug around a heavy jacket.
Functionable
Who
wants to spend 20 minutes putting on shoes or attempting to run through an
airport in a pair of high heels. Sure, if you have a 4 hour layover and only
one connection, maybe heels are an option for you.
Large
Now I am
talking about your personal carry on item, because I know you are going to take
a million and one things to keep yourself occupied during that layover. At
least I do. You need a large enough purse/satchel to carry them in that is
functionable as a purse when you arrive at your destination.
When your
travel outfit fits into all of the above categories, you (at least I) feel so
much more relaxed and comfortable when I fly. It makes your time in the air and
on the ground, so much more pleasant. And, if you are like me, you make sure
that your outfit is just as good in the airport as when you walk out the doors
to your destination. Because, I know I don’t want to have to worry about
spending even more time in the hotel room getting ready once I am on vacation.
What are
your ideas of the perfect travel outfit?
An ideal dressings, thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeletemeet and greet luton airport
are these airport outfits for purchase or just an idea so we can find our own? i really hate to shop. lol
ReplyDeleteI travel in a nylon/polyester run suit/T-shirt and a thin blazer with pockets. I dress in layers to adjust to any climate. Sneakers with footies. I have a Brighton carry on (had it for years, a gift from my son) with a zipper so I can have my laptop/ accessories accessible and if I need to toss my blazer it is just a zipper away. My scarf is in my carry on in case the plane is cold. Also in my carry on is a toothbrush, underclothes, wash cloth and soap in case there is a delay.
ReplyDeleteI am a Global Member, so I don’t have to take shoes off or remove electronics. It’s worth the money for me.
And oh, my purse is a crossover with zipped compartments inside and out, so I’m hands free! My traveling experience is a breeze!! But, my checked suitcase (lol, I always overpack). I’m flying tho! 😊
I would suggest to NOT wear anything with glitter or rhinestones. It’s sets off the scanner, and you’ll have a total body search!
ReplyDeleteI flew in the 80s and 90s for work and you had to be dressed up as you would be in the office.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear people dont have to do that any more. An airport is no place for heels, nylons, a girdle or a tight jacket.
At 74 when I fly now I wear comfortable but nice looking attire and comfotable stable shoes.
